Loved lazing around at Jenkins Hill on a Saturday afternoon. My daughter enjoyed the playground which was covered, so it kept the sun out. Will definitely be doing this more often.

Opportunities to go off track to the stream are there for those who may like to get up close to the watery, mossy scene here in the photo.

I went to the park today to test run my electric remote control boat. I was told to stop because the park was busy with visitors. Also the park ranger told me to go further down the stream to test my boat without disturbing the visitors around the park when in fact I am also a visitors.I pay to enjoy my time in the park. I do understand the rules. I have been coming to the park for almost 2 years. The ranger told me to go further down stream to test my boat without giving considerations about my safety. It seems the ranger more concern about his work and other people rather than my safety. He also saying that my electric boat is noisy. The noise came from the kids in the park, screaming, running, yelling, vehicle from the road nearby, plane flying over and etc are more noisy than my electric boat. What a looser.

Nice park. Had a team picnic in Cottonwood Glen section. Nice flat area, good amenities and sheltered.

Great North walk alongside the river is a shady cooling experience on even hot summer days... the birdsong, ubiquitous Cicadas and bubbling stream combine to create a tranquil day.
